... Now Back to Our Regularly Scheduled Year

If you are reading this, Falls Church City Public Schools are OPEN through no small feat by a dedicated team of FCCPS Support Staff - a few of them pictured above.  From plowing to salting and shoveling all four schools on Monday, to doing it all again on Tuesday our crew is beyond compare.  Thanks to them and Facilities Director Seve Padilla for their hard work this week.

Mason's West Finalist for Grammy Award

George Mason band director Mary Jo West is one of ten music teachers in the nation that have been announced as finalists for the Recording Academy and Grammy Foundation’s first annual Music Educator Award. The finalists were culled from more than 30,000 initial nominations submitted from all 50 states.
As a finalist West will receive at least a $1,000 honorarium that could become $10,000 if she wins it all next month.

GM Swim Team Off to Great Start

Over 50 Mustangs opened their swim season Saturday against Central-Woodstock. Many individual athletes and relays made times fast enough to qualify for  States (VHSL times), and one athlete did that and had PRs in two events.
