On the delights of a daring attitude...

"Here is a good rule of thumb: If it makes your heart beat faster, you're on the right track.  Ultimately, daring is in the attitude."

- Christine Whitney, Harper's BAZAAR

S&P is launching a new consulting service this month (Yay!), and it is something that I created especially for the tribe of bloggers, social media butterflies and online influencers that I feel so lucky to be a part of*.  As with any reasonably-sized business development or career move, there can sometimes be a healthy hesitance meant to keep us from doing anything too crazy, but the question I've been asking myself lately is:

How do we know when to push past the doubt and when we should listen to it's warnings?

Embracing my entrepreneurial spirit is one of the adventures that has blessed me with a lot of fulfillment over the last several years (hardly a coincidence that I also love roller coasters and jalapeño roulette), but it has also brought about plenty of grueling challenges and delicious creative quests that I wouldn't trade for the world.

When I spotted this quote in a recent BAZAAR article about personal style, it made me realize that I relish nearly ANY moment where I get a chance to bring my daring attitude into play.  It can be something as simple as a head-tilting outfit or as nerve-wracking as a cross-country move, but the important key seems to be keeping in mind how your past leaps have paid you back with positive results.

Although Ms. Whitney was writing specifically about challenging yourself in the sartorial space, I think that this formula can relate fabulously to everything from style to work to love to any type of life adventure, really.

As I get ready to roll out this new project (and feel my heart start to race!) - I'm reminded how encouraging it can be to hear the positive "daring" stories of others… Do you have any personal moments where pushing yourself out of your comfort zone has resulted in positive results?

I would absolutely LOVE to have your share your stories with me as a part of these Pepper Letters, and if you happen to need a little cheerleading or support along the way… I'm your girl!!!
