Dear Friends of Arch Street,

It has been an amazing year for Arch Street, The Greenwich Teen Center! In 2013, we launched new programs and opened our doors to an entire new grade level. Our programs and events have seen record breaking attendance as we still continue to grow.

We have compiled our best and favorite moments of 2013 in this "Year In Review."

We are looking forward to a New Year with new programs, events and much more! We thank you for your continued support in making Arch Street the longest running teen center in the nation. Here's to a fantastic 2014 and the continued support of our Greenwich Teens!!!

Summer Highlights

Due to the underwriting and support of our donors, we were able to fund two new summer programs!!!

Paddle Board Club

Over the summer we introduced our new StandUp Paddle Board Club and were able to offer professional instruction by Fairfield County Stand-up Paddle Boarding.

Every Tuesday and Thursday our students would jump in the water and paddle out. This year we had a full paddle board club! We can't wait until next summer.

Community Service

Yoga Takeover

In January of 2013 we introduced our Yoga Takeover program. Due to the program's popularity, we decided to make it a year-long program at the teen center.

Every Wednesday, students have been learning and practicing Yoga instructed by Megan Riley. If you would like more information on how to join, visit our Yoga Takeover program page.

Neighbor to Neighbor

Every other Thursday, Arch Street students visit Neighbor to Neighbor. Students manage the organization's food pantry and clothing drive.

Our community service program continues to grow and has doubled since our last quarter!

Student Fundraising

Staff Community Service

On November 24th, Arch Street Directors prepared over 30 meals for a women's shelter in Stamford right in time for Thanksgiving.

Arch Street staff also celebrated New Years Eve at the shelter to provide meals for the new year.

High School BuildOn

Over the summer, the Greenwich High School BuildOn Chapter teamed up with our Teen Board to raise money for their trip to Haiti.

After hosting a successful dance in 2012, they decided to host a car wash to meet their goal.

Middle School BuildOn

7/8th grade students from "Hand In Hand With Haiti" (BuildOn Middle School Chapter) hosted their very first BuildOn fundraiser in November!

After a successful event, they are one step closer to reaching their goal.

← Red Ribbon Foundation

Students on our Teen Board helped plan the annual "Ho Ho Hope For Aids" High School Dance.

Proceeds from the sold out dance went towards helping the Red Ribbon Foundation.

With funds raised through special events like the "Ho Ho Hope For Aids", Red Ribbon Foundation awards grants to prevention education programs, research to eradicate the disease, and assistance programs for those living with HIV/AIDS.

6th Grade Holiday Celebration!

Once in a while our celebrations include special guests. The Grinch decided to stop by for "The Grinch Who Stole Arch Street" 6th Grade Holiday Celebration.

7/8th Grade Opening Night

We kicked off the school year with a sold out "Back To School" dance. 7/8th Grade students were invited to the teen center for a night of fun games, music and more!

Record Breaking Attendance

Since our opening night, we have seen record breaking attendance at all of our 7/8th Grade events. Here is a photo of students waiting in line for doors to open.

7/8th Grade "Nightmare on Arch Street"

Our highly anticipated "Nightmare on Arch Street" gives our 7/8th grade students a chance to dress up and see their friends all in one place. The event featured a huge blow-up pumpkin and DJ Lucas Dell'Abate.

Costume of the Year

7/8th Grade Student, Ben F, dressed up as a chicken for our "Nightmare on Arch Street" dance. Not very scary, but the chicken caught everyone's attention receiving our 2013 Costume of the Year.
High School Highlights

Being a drug-free and alcohol-free environment, it was necessary to call on the Greenwich community to keep our teens safe when encountering these issues. Therefore, we released an open letter to the Greenwich community before hosting our first high school event of the season.

Arch Street's open letter was featured in The Greenwich Time, Patch and various other media outlets. Our Teen Board joined forces in promoting the letter across their social networks reaching the attention of various local organizations who did the same.

If you missed Arch Street's open letter, click here to read it.

High School "Welcome to the Jungle"

Arch Street's first high school dance of the school year was a huge success!

The sold out event featured an aerial dancer! See if you can spot her in the photo above.

High School "Band Night"

Arch Street has been hosting band nights since 1993. In keeping with this tradition, Arch Street hosted a band night featuring a combination of Arch Street alumni and current students. Past performances have also included Dispatch, Fabulous, Ne-yo, Fall Out Boy and more!

The Y.A.R.D. Convention

Young Aspiring Remarkable Dancers (Y.A.R.D.) took over the teen center for a two day hip-hop dance convention. Students ranging from 7-12th grade were instructed by world renown dancers. For more information on next year's convention, visit theyardmovement.com.
