In his Direct Line column, Rockefeller Center Director Andrew Samwick discusses efforts to add international dimensions to programs that blend leadership and public policy at the Center.

BEYOND THE DARTMOUTH BUBBLE: Rockefeller Center offers student opportunities for global learning. Students in Public Policy 85, Global Policy Leadership: Economic Reform in India, documented their experience off-campus during the winter break. Public Policy 85 is designed to provide real world international policy experience.

Amy Couture â€™14, one of the students participating, says she has come to understand that public policy cannot be created in a vacuum. â€œThis course has been an exercise in asking the right questions, compiling large swathes of information, and prioritizing recommendations,â€ she says. â€œAnd while weâ€™re learning so much about India, Professor Wheelan also likes to say that weâ€™re â€˜learning how to learn.â€™ â€ Read more...
