Dear Readers,

Happy New Year! I hope you all had restful and joyous holidays.

As you return to daily Berlin life, I'm optimistic that Readmill, the e-reading app I mention below, will add some color to your first U-Bahn commutes of 2014. And if you're even more eager to get your juices flowing, Fireflies magazine has issued a call for submissions on a selection of Italian and Thai films. Read on for all specifics.

January will be flowing with events and announcements, so please keep encouraging your friends to subscribe at
berlinreads.com and to follow along @berlinreads. As always, the more the merrier.

Cheers & Prost,
Stephanie

If reading a book on your phone sounds dreadful, download this app and think again.
