Positive projects in Haiti
Dear friend of the Kenbe La Foundation

The 4th anniversary of the Haiti earthquake approaches this weekend, January 12.

Always a sobering time at Kenbe La, our thoughts are with those who work to bring a new hope and future to the children of that country. They face perilous and heart-breaking conditions.

We would love it if you could follow and share our FaceBook updates this week as we will make a point of highlighting Haiti in the lead up to the anniversary.

Please take some time to read these positive stories below as an introduction.

Tool Box Gift Hits Nail On The Head!
These well-stocked carpenters’ toolboxes were included in Kenbe La Foundation’s shipment of aid supplies to Haiti. The first of three has just been presented to a promising young carpenter, Guellor Jacques, and will make it possible for him to go out on his own. The cost of good quality tools is more than most young trades-people could afford on wages.
Jon (right) presented the box to Guellor and said: "We knew he would be happy, but he was ecstatic"

Monica Albertini visits Henri Christophe School
Monica is a KBL Advisory Trustee based in Geneva. Fundraising she organized in her home town in Italy went towards the Henri Christophe school so in August she was thrilled to be able to visit the school in Haiti and see the results and report back

COHP School Water Filter
Meanwhile, over at the Children of Haiti Project (COHP) School - another KBL Advisory Trustee Rick Ehlert provided a Pure Water filter for the school in October 2013. It cost US$200 which included the filter and training for the COHP staff in using it. The two filters now provide all the clean, safe water needed for the school for 87 children and staff - and saves them around US$200 A MONTH (!) which is what they previously had to spend buying bottled water.
Good idea Rick.

COHP continues to be an inspiration
And we remain committed to supporting this project to the best of our ability: "The children look forward to coming to school every morning, where they find love, compassion and most importantly inspiration.
They come to an environment that allows them to experience self esteem and pride in their own accomplishments.
Thank you for your continued support"
