GMH Newsletter

December 2013
GMH wishes you a happy and healthy holiday.

Thank you to everyone who made this our most successful year to date, but we are just getting started! Stay tuned for our next edition in January. We have lots of exciting news, events, and plans on the way.
Fire Hits Bongo District Hospital

An electrical fire at Bongo District Hospital has burned down the operating room and the equipment in it. We have reports that the makeshift theatre is now utilizing entirely GMH-donated equipment! Without these items, the hospital would have been completely unable to maintain surgical operations.

Our Director of Operations, Dr. Dominic Akaateba will be visiting the hospital at the end of December. We'll have a full report from Dr. Akaateba in our next newsletter.

Help GMH help this hospital. Donate or sponsor equipment today.

Rob Cordell is our Sponsor of the Month for December 2013

This month GMH would like to recognize the contribution of Rob Cordell. We could not exist without the generous contributions of individuals epitomized by Rob.

“Thank you for helping to achieve our goals of sustainably advancing the quality of and access to adequate healthcare in northern Ghana.”
Chris Hadfield is our GMH Volunteer of the Month for December 2013

Despite a very busy schedule, Col (Ret.) Chris Hadfield managed to volunteer a considerable amount of his valuable time this month to support Ghana Medical Help, and helped us to raise over $42,000 to go towards purchasing basic medical equipment needed in hospitals in northern Ghana.

Thank you Commander Hadfield!
