World Ocean Observatory | The Sea Connects All Things
If we have reached millions this year, then we can reach millions more in 2014.  Watch for expansion of all the above strategies and tools in the coming year. The best way you can support us, now and always, is to spread the word: use our content, join our social media groups, forward our link, engage your family, friends, teachers, students, colleagues, community members, and strangers in what we do so that we may expand our circle of Citizens of the Ocean as far as the ocean's infinite horizon.

World Ocean Journal e-mag World Ocean Observatory

Coming Up in 2014:
World Ocean Journal: An e-magazine offering a wide perspective on culture and ocean solutions through articles, photographs, interviews and art. We will be sending our first volume of World Ocean Journal  to you in early January. World Ocean Radio Global: We are at work translating episodes into French, Spanish, and Portuguese for introduction to partners in Africa and South America; and for Educators: A new app for smart phones and tablets which will focus on distance learning connections to oceanographic research scientists and ocean literacy educational projects.

World Ocean Radio Holiday Episode: At the Fishhouses
Holiday Episode: At the Fishhouses
About this episode: At the close of each year, World Ocean Radio host Peter Neill reads "At The Fishhouses" by Elizabeth Bishop. This poem was chosen not only for its relevance for the New Year, but because it distills years of Bishop's seaside meditations and evokes the clarity of meaning contained in personal encounters with the world ocean.
World Ocean Radio Holiday Episode: At the Fishhouses
252: Lighthouse Projects
About this episode: In this episode of World Ocean Radio we'll discuss a number of small, local projects which apply management and sustainability concepts, conservation strategies, and infrastructure improvements, implemented by the very people the ideas and innovations are intended to serve. We will also describe the foundations and organizations which support such coastal projects.
World Ocean Radio 251: A Climate Change Refugee
251: A Climate Change Refugee
About this episode: A recent legal case involving a man from Kiribati claiming refugee status from the impacts of climate has captured world media attention. In this episode of World Ocean Radio we will discuss the case and its implication for future refugees and will argue that developed economies are the responsible perpetrators of crimes against the defenseless victims of climate change.
