FIRST ANNUAL PACKRAFT ROUNDUP!

Dear APA member;

APA will be hosting the first annual Packraft Roundup this July 11-13, 2014 at Big Creek campground on the north fork of the Flathead River in Montana. APA has reserved the group site, which can hold up to 200 people. The registration fee for the weekend is $30, which includes camping, workshops, and Saturday night's BBQ party. Participants traveling from outside of the U.S. and Canada come FREE!

In addition, Swiftwater Safety Institute is offering an optional and highly recommended Swiftwater Rescue Training in conjunction with the Roundup on July 11, 2014 for an additional $75. For more info on the training and registration for the training, click here.

The Roundup is going to be a great way to meet and network with other packrafters, share and learn some tips and techniques, and go packrafting on the north fork of the Flathead and nearby streams of Glacier National Park. This time window is ideal for packrafting in this part of the northern Rockies. The Roundup will be a great jumping off point for personal trips afterward in the Bob Marshall Wilderness, Great Bear Wilderness, and Glacier National Park.

Expect packrafting-related workshops on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and group packrafting time in the afternoons. Stay tuned...we will send out a schedule of events as the time approaches. For more information about the Roundup and to share your ideas, contact organizer Moe Witschard at 406-570-3505 or funhog@olympus.net.

Thanks to Jackson Hole Packraft & Packraft Rentals Anywhere for sponsoring the Packraft Roundup. They are offering a 10 percent discount on packraft rentals to APA members who might need a packraft or have a friend that needs a packraft for the event. Call 907-830-1016 to reserve a packraft rental.
