Whoops!!! Please pardon the broken link in the newsletter I sent you 5 minutes ago. I have corrected it here because I really want you to check my how-to blog post. It might inspire you to try your hand at acrylic inks and gel medium. Sorry for the double sending...Flora

Dear <<First Name>>,

As I write this, there are fat, thick flakes of snow falling outside the studio.
Inside the wood stove keeps us warm along with beautiful flowers that I bring home from Digby between snowstorms!

I'm weathering the storms because the flowers bring summertime inside the studio and I'm painting with the hottest colours I can find. ;)

Keep warm and remember, the days really are getting longer.

Flora

While it stormed this week, I painted. These cyclamens valiantly bloom every winter and the flowers dance like fairies above their tall, swaying stems.
Find out how this painting evolved with step-by-step photos.
Transparent inks are a marvellous tool to work with.
Earlier this month I sent more new paintings to the Art Sales and Rental Gallery in Halifax. This gallery does a wonderful job of promoting painters in Nova Scotia.
My Valentines

As for the weather, I'm rather thankful that Larry and I are snowed in.
It's giving me time to sort through my personal archive of watercolours. It's time to downsize and to share some paintings with past, current, and future collectors.

I'm preparing for a show and sale in Bear River on the weekend of February 15th and 16th. (noon - 4pm). There will be rare bargains and a few give-aways.

The show coincides with Bear River's Winter CarnivalIt's a time of cross-country skiiing and open studio tours and snow sculptures and more.

I'll send you the details next week. Here is a peek at a few of the many unframed watercolours that will be available. In the spirit of 'pay it forward', the paintings will be priced from $20 to $100.

Late Breaking News: Steve Skafte, poet and Wally Shishkov, painter will join me at the Rebekah to perform their magic. Watch them instantly improvise one-of-a-kind painting-poems with watercolours and words. Custom requests are welcome.
