CALL FOR ACTION: Medicaid Reimbursement for Quitline Services

Last week, NAQC sent a letter to Dr. Donald Berwick, the new Administrator of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), describing some of the challenges that states have experienced in trying to gain Medicaid reimbursement for quitline services and asking for his help.
CALL FOR ACTION
We would like to encourage action by U.S. members of NAQC who have sought Medicaid reimbursement for quitline services. Please send a letter to CMS sharing your experiences in trying to gain reimbursement, describe why reimbursement is important to your quitline, and identify the challenges you faced. It is very important to send letters within the next few weeks. You are welcome to borrow as much language as you like from NAQC’s letter. NOTE: Please also send a copy of your letter to NAQC via e-mail for our follow-up activities with CMS.
