News From Montgomery

February 2014

Thank You Volunteers and Donors

Over the past few months, Montgomery has had lots of volunteers and helpers come out to complete projects around the site.

In December, we had the Mandarin MUGS group help complete the fence project at Lake Emerald and construct a lean-to barn for our maintenance equipment.

Also in December, thanks to the Montgomery Family, we now have a completed the Front 9 of the Montgomery Disc Golf Course. No longer do we have to hit trees, we are now able to drive and shoot for proper, regulation sized baskets.

In January, we were excited to host the Mariners In Mission (MIM) organization that travels to camp and conference centers connected with the PC(USA) and complete projects that the center needs. For Montgomery, the MIMs completely repainted the Weller Dining Hall, built a multi-sectional stage, repaired some electrical systems, and completed a few sewing projects.

From all of us here at Montgomery Center, it is with a deep heart of gratitude, love, and thanks that we say Thank You to all of those mentioned, and unmentioned, that have contributed to Montgomery's future.

Meet Kris Weaver

New Office Manager

Hello everyone, I am Kris Weaver the new Office Manager. After spending over 10 years in the healthcare field (most of them as an Administrative Secretary), I felt the urge to move into something completely different and have found that here at Montgomery! God has blessed me with a wonderful husband, family, and a fantastic Church, all of which keep me very busy. My greatest joy is to serve people in whatever capacity I can. I look forward to my time here at Montgomery as an opportunity to grow and learn so that I may provide the best experience to everyone that visits here.

A Word on Summer Camp

From a 4+ year staff member, Dylan Cordle

What comes to mind when I think of Camp Montgomery? Fun! Friends! And faith!

Camp Montgomery, a plot of land set aside on a 150+ acre plot of land with three lakes on site, is the perfect location to acquire these three things. With a high ropes course, archery range, canoes, a blob, a rock wall, boats for water sports, creative staff members who come up with some of the awesomest ideas, and so much more...
