MELANIE TREMBLAY ...
From:
I hail from Edmonton, Alberta.
Lives: I live in North Vancouver.
Work: I am an entrepreneur:

Q: What inspires you to want to jump for joy?
A: That I'm not dead yet so can still have so many adventures. Ok, that sounds morbid. I'm not terminally ill or anything, I just know that there are no guarantees in life so I want to pack in as many experiences and learning as I can while I can.

Q. Your experience doing jumping photos?
A: It was interesting to see just how high the camera showed me jumping. I really only thought I was getting two inches of air. It made me think how much I can underestimate myself. I felt really energized doing these jumps, plus I got to tap into my grade 7 cheerleading skills!

Q: What inspires you in life?
A:
Kittens.

Q: Your greatest passion?
A:
I am very passionate about women's causes, I'm actually really angry about how women are treated around the world. I would like to have an impact not only on how men view and value women, but on how women view and value themselves.

Q: Your philosophy in life?
A: “When in doubt, laugh.”

Q: Your driving force?
A:
Since I struggle with depression at times, some days my driving force is simply getting out of bed and making myself go for a bike ride. Luckily, on the majority of my days I'm driven by two greater things: being with the people I love in my life, and wanting to make positive change in the world.

Q: Anything in the world?
A:
I would go to a variety of third world countries and volunteer in grassroots organizations. I would do anything from tending goats to helping women start micro-businesses. I'd love to do this with a loved one and use a bike to get around and see the world (don't worry, maman & papa, I'll always wear my helmet and will make sure to come an visit you regularly). Ultimately I am setting up my businesses in such a way that I will have the freedom (of time and money) to be able to do this within five years' time.

Mini bio / Something you would like to share:
I have started a socially and environmentally responsible cosmetic line with my business partner, Brandi Leifso. There are 170 Billion dollars spent on cosmetics world wide every year. We want to capture some of that market and use the revenue towards helping to reduce the incidence of domestic violence in North America. We currently direct funds to a program that supports women transitioning out of women's shelters. A dollar from each product sold goes towards this cause and people can buy our products at www.evelyniona.com.
