WHY IS SHE A SLAVE?


Shyima Hall was only 12 years old when a neighbor noticed that the young girl did not go to school. The Egyptian girl worked in the upscale Irvine neighborhood, providing domestic labor to the wealthy family that purchased her from her parents for $30 per month.

More than a decade later, Shyima is free, a US Citizen, and releasing a book titled Hidden Girl: The True Story of a Modern-Day Child Slave on January 21. Shyima is one of our Plenary Speaker at Ensure Justice 2014!
