Happy new year!

Ted and I are so excited about the new year.  We are looking forward to what God has in store for Gabriel House.

You have probably all heard by now that the main highway to Ensenada has collapsed into the sea.

My dear friend, Carol, commented on how interesting it is that the “new” highway collapsed. Carol pondered the question, “Is God telling us to go back to the old way, back to the simple gospel, back to the basics of Christianity?” Do we need to get back to loving our neighbors regardless of their behaviors and praying for them to be open to the simple gospel of Jesus Christ, God born as a man, and willingly giving his sinless life for our sins? What does the old way mean? To me it speaks of reaching out and emulating Christ so others can see Him and then being ready and willing to tell others about Him when they ask.

We need your help!

We just learned some exciting news. There’s a private Christian school that will let FIVE

of our children attend their special education program. Teddy and Marcos can begin their secondary education (middle school) for only $160.00 per month, per student. Our on-campus Conafe school only goes to 6th grade, and only teaches a handful of our kids.

I have been storming the gates of heaven with prayers that God would make a way for Marcos and Teddy to continue their education and receive valid school documents through middle school.

I feared that they would get bullied and ignored by the staff in public school which has, unfortunately, been our experience in the past. God has more than answered our prayers. This school provides specially trained teachers and a quality Christian education for our kids.

They also have a heart for handicapped children and a special education program for Pilar, Irene, and Emiliano, who can enroll now.

They will need uniforms and registration fees which cover their school pictures, lunches, books and supplies.

Please help us pray for these expenses. We believe our children deserve a quality education, and that God wants that too.

If you could only see this clean, organized, and beautiful school! All the children with disabilities have their regular teacher and a shadow teacher that attends to each student to be certain they are being mentored and encouraged.

If there are those who feel led of the Lord to contribute to the education fund for our children, please follow the link at the bottom of this email or send your tax deductible contributions to:

We plan to have

a fruit and vegetable garden and chickens this year!  Adele Parisotto, who has recently joined our merry band, has had experience

raising chickens.  As a child growing up, we always had a chicken pen in our country back yard too.

Adele and I have been investigating the different types of chicken coops that would work for us.  We want to start by having groups make a ramp down to the third level of our property so the boys can reach the chicken coop.  We will start with just 6 laying hens and see how it goes.

A ministry that helps orphanages learn to grow organic food is coming to put in a raised-bed garden built on hay bales for easy access for the children. Jose has been tending a small selection of flowers and shrubs for the past year and the plants survived.  We think he is ready to graduate to vegetable gardening!

Pray that the water therapy center
will be completed this summer. Our Mexican contractor took the money and disappeared.
Only two thirds of the therapy pool is complete. I need prayer!

I have a really hard time forgiving people who rob from innocent children. When someone hurts my kids, Mama Renie becomes Mama Bear!  I want to forgive the man, but several thousand dollars of a grant, given in good faith, for a water therapy center has been basically stolen from our kids.

We thought we had investigated this man thoroughly. He has a pool business in Mexicali and supposedly fulfilled contracts satisfactorily with American homeowners in the LA area. I am having a seriously difficult time. I do not want bitterness to take root in my heart, but I hate that Satan had his way with what was meant as a blessing for our children.

Please pray with us!

1. God would provide for tuition and expenses needed to give our children a quality education.

2. Ted and I need prayer for Ted’s health to improve and my good health to continue.

3. Our personal missionary income is not meeting all of our expenses. We do not rely on Gabriel House to meet our expenses. Our pensions have always been enough, but that is no longer the case.

4. Pray for the health of our children.

5. Pray for more health professionals that may want to intern for 6 months to one year or more, at Gabriel House.
We're praying for:

  • doctor on site
  • nurse on site
  • special ed teacher(s)
  • health educators to teach our staff
  • physical and occupational therapists
  • speech therapists
  • cook
  • respiratory therapist
 6. Pray that I will be able to forgive the contractor for taking the money and abandoning the water therapy project, and that I leave the justice in God’s hands.

7. Pray that God will provide the resources for the completion of the water therapy project.

8. Pray for Alejandra while she prepares to become an intern and Bible student at Hugo Ministries. Her first official day will be Valentine Day February 14th - we will be giving Hugo one of our sweethearts.

9. Pray for spiritual growth for both Ani and Ale’ as they navigate the challenges of youth growing up in the world as it is today.

10. Pray for groups who will want to come and invest their time, energy, and finances in our children and their lives.

The prayer list is long but we have a mighty and powerful God who is mindful of us and our needs and He answers prayer. His Word promises this and we can depend on it with complete confidence.

But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. - John 11:22 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. - John 14:13-14
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. - John 15:7
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. - John 15:16

God bless you!

Renie and Ted
