Hello fellow readers:

All I can is that this has been quite a month when it comes to my life being part of an adventure. My personal life and my professional life have been both been put to the test throughout these four weeks. But the one thing I've learned about life is that when you feel like its trying to keep you stuck in one place, only the strongest of human beings can find a way out. Then once they do that, amazing blessing and gifts will be bestowed on them. You never know how much strength you have until you feel cornered in a wall with no where to go.

I survived another month of college. I got a new position for a well known lifestyle/entertainment magazine. I went on my first vacation outside of the city since I moved here two years ago. I've removed friends, acquaintances, and business relationships that I knew were toxic for me. My life has gained much more wisdom that I can't to carry on into the new future. I swear, being in your 20s can really knock your socks off. May even lead to a diagnosis of bi-polar disorder. All I can say it that I'm happy for the decisions I've made along with learning that my tolerance is no longer something to be played with. Human beings can only take so much. Now I'm at a point in my life where I'm tired of being walked over or tolerating unnecessary crap.

There have been many recent influences that has helped me change my life for the better. I am slowly becoming the person that has been in this shell for the longest. One of the lessons I've learned is to stay in your truth and defend your truth. Often times, I've been afraid to be who I am, say certain things, or make certain choices because of my fear of not pleasing the people around me. Now I realize there is nothing wrong with me. There's something wrong with the other person. If you find something that makes you happy and it's obviously beneficial for your life, you grab it and never second guess your choices. And if someone doesn't agree with you and tries to tell you to change yourself to make them look better, you tell them "I don't give a rat's ass what you think about me" and walk out the door.

I'm truthfully a rebel and it's starting to come out of me a lot faster than I expected.

One of the highlights of February was New York Fashion Week. I have never attended this iconic week of the fashion industry in New York City. I have grown up watching New York Fashion Week on tv shows and movies like Sex & the City, The Devil Wears Prada, and The September Issue
. So the fact that Tyrone Farley, the editor-in-chief of True Fashionista Now, asked me to cover events during New York Fashion Week, it was a dream come true. So most of the highlights of this week will be about New York Fashion Week. However, I was social at other events that you will find in here.

Support

The creator of the hit web series No Shade currently has a GoFundMe campaign going on. I, for one, am surprisingly a fan of this web series. I would personally like to see this series have a second season. But of course, that requires your help. Click on their photo and provide funding for this amazing web series on their campaign's web page.

“No Shade” is a LGBT dramedy about four flamboyant friends (three gay men and a transgender woman) living their lives in New York City. The series touches on coming-of-age, religion, sex work, safe sex, transgender issues, safe sex, and even features a colorful homage to the ballroom community. Director and cinematographer Sean Anthony is the creator of the new web series, which premiered its first episode on February 13, 2013.  Since then, the series has become a huge success with over 500,000 views and nearly 10,000 subscribers.

In conclusion, I'm so happy to have completed another month of reflections. Can't wait to see what March has for me. All I know is that I'm living a passionate, happy, life.

With love,

Roque Caston
