Free the Oppressed

Back to School!

Faith Academy began its third school year and we are thrilled to have three new teachers with us to help us give our children the best academic education possible. We also have 7 new toddlers in our preschool class... they are having a blast!

Clockwise from top left: Krystal and Luna, classmates and good friends. Doris looks at the camera while Bayron concentrates on his book during their Spanish curriculum class. Four of our new students enjoy building sand castles during recess. Andrea and Pamela hang out at the swings.
Left, Hannah Fiskum with our Kindergarten class. Right, Nikkie Young with the preschoolers.

Welcome Brittany!

Brittany Crenshaw saw our school for the first time during a short mission trip with her church last year. She went back home determined to return and teach our kids... and we are grateful she did! Brittany is a special needs teacher and is already making a huge difference in our kids' learning experience. Here she is next to Gaby and Paul.

Honorary Recognition for Rev. Hughes

Rev. Jimmy Hughes received two very special acknowledgements: a Honor Medal of Merit on behalf of Honduran President Pepe Lobo and a Honorable Mention from the Armed Forces from the hands of General Carlos Espinoza, Deputy Chief of Staff, for his remarkable service provided to that institution. It makes us glad that he was publicly recognized for many years of labor and service to this nation.

Honduras Has a New President

Left: Rev. Jimmy Hughes and his wife Jessica were invited to President Juan Orlando Hernandez' inauguration. Right: Rev Jimmy next to Lisandro Rosales, the new appointed Minister for Social Development.

Our Boys Are Blessed!

Top: Rev. Jimmy Hughes and his staff are enthusiastic bike riders and now our boys are part of the team. They ride the mountains at least twice a week and have great fun. Bottom: Our kids got a real treat with the visit of Jerry Bengston, Honduras' National Soccer Team player and a famous athlete in our nation.

Door of Hope Rehab Graduates

Door of Hope Rehab Center continues to be a place of refuge and restoration for men and women who are seeking freedom and a renewal of their minds through the exposure to the Word of God. Miguel completed his 6 month initial phase of their process.
