Snow days!
Oh my! We had 3 days off school last week because of the snow, roads and brutally cold temperatures and since we don't have school on Fridays, the girls and I haven't been to school since last Monday. Not too stir crazy yet since we were able to get out this weekend. However, there is more snow in the forecast and we're not sure what tomorrow morning will hold. I had visions of being that perfect pinterest mom and having great ideas planned for these days off but mostly I kept the peace and caught up on bookwork. I'll give the girls credit though, they played together pretty well. Of those three days, there was only one day I really felt comfortable sending them out to play. However, this evening, you can tell they need to see a few other faces. Pretty sure even with all my Little House on the Prairie dreams, I would have never survived The Long Winter.
Pork
Last call for hogs (for now). We have one hog that still needs to find a freezer or two halves. We estimate the out-of-pocket expense will be about $510 for a whole hog (this figures in your processing cost). Let me know if you would like your name on it.
Crazy week
This is one of those weeks that I just don't enjoy. I think that we are on the road of have something scheduled every afternoon/evening this week - conferences, forensics, trip to the processor/allergist, more forensics. I'm sure I'll have stories to tell next week!
Momma moment
I try not to brag on my kids too much - they're just as wonderful, smart, funny and athletic as yours are - but I just have to say something here. Skip this section if you want. Allison's school basketball team has had a heck of a season. She's got to suit up for varsity all season (one of her personal goals) and has made it in to the game several times. The girls' team has gone 13-0 this season. They won the league championship and this weekend they played in the league tournament and came out league champions by beating a really tough team! So very proud of these girls!
