Ways of achieving desired spread rates

Ensuring proper spreadrates are achieved is vital to the success of any stabilisation job with powder binders.

Section 12.2.3 of the AustStab Guide details how the binders are applied and how binder application rates are verified.

Currently AustStab recommends verifying the binder application rate for mechanical spreaders use:
  • trays or mats which are weighed; or
  • use of measurements from on-board load cells on the spreader.
More information about maximum application rates for a single spread, and other construction guideslines are included in the AustStab Pavement Recycling and Stabilisation Guide.
