How's it going for you as you seek to 'raise the risk' in pointing other people to Christ? Our 'rally cry' - and prayer - is to see more people turning to Christ, trusting him and receiving his salvation. I've heard some stories of how some are you are pursuing this and I'd love to hear more…  Most of all, let's actually be doing it - praying, looking for opportunities and sharing the love and message of Jesus whenever we can. I'm excited about what God is doing in this and am glad we are sharing in it together.

Upcoming Sunday's

  • 2/2 - This is where we face the greatest risk in this 'Raise the Risk' series - looking at actually sharing the good news of Jesus with others. This is key to our 2014 rally cry - don't miss it.
  • 2/9 - In addition to our 'Raise the Risk' series, we'll have the special privilege of having His Little Feet,  a children's choir, with us this day. We will be taking a love offering for His Little Feet, a ministry for orphaned & vulnerable children worldwide, in both services. For more information on the choir, visit www.hislittlefeet.org.
  • 2/16 - Our new series 'Jesus is Enough' begins this day. This is a great series to invite those whom you want to point to Jesus. So many of us live lives that are not satisfying. Whether we're stuck in a cubicle, unemployed, discontent with our finances, or lonely, Jesus promises us that He is more than enough. During this message series, Jesus is going to show us how we can find satisfaction and a full life in Him - no matter where we're at or what we're facing. We'll be looking at Jesus as the great  I AM, from God's initial declaration of who he is to Jesus' representation of that in the Gospel of John.
Thank you to everyone who came and supported Mexico Missions last Sunday at the Burrito Bash. If you haven’t heard, SunHills students are leading a church-wide missions trip to Ensenada Mexico this April If you would like to join us on this trip or support those going, please look for the bright orange flyers  at church this Sunday to see how you can be involved. Our biggest needs include financial support, vehicles we can use to drive to Mexico, and translators. If you are able to help in any of these areas, please contact Erich Grunder at Erich@sunhills.org or fill out an orange flyer and leave it in the offering.

Update on Kristy Ballengee

To Our Sun Hills Family,

Thank you all for your support, both prayerfully and financially, for Kristy's mission trip. With help from all her friends and family, she was able to start her journey fully funded - what a praise!

Kristy traveled back east early January for some final training with her teammates and then launched on her World Race 11-month mission trip to 11 countries. Her first stop is in Zambia, Africa, where her ministry was focused on door-to-door evangelism; sports and children's ministry; visiting clinics and encouraging/praying over the sick and hurting; and leading church services.  If you would like to follow her on her journey and see her blogs, go to http://kristyballengee.theworldrace.org/

Please continue to pray for Kristy and her teammates as they share the love of Jesus to all those they meet along their journey.

Thanks again for your love and support!

Sue Ballengee

Finances

This January, part of my personal readings in Scripture came from the book of Acts - and one of the things that stood out to me was the generosity of believers. There are multiple examples of people giving financially to support the ministry of the growing movement of Christ's kingdom. They did so out of the joyful conviction that "it is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35). You are following the same pattern when you give to - and through - SunHills. As many of you know, we've increased our giving and designation of funds to local and international outreach, and your giving is vital to support this on-going mission. Thank you for doing so faithfully and generously to get 2014 off to a strong start financially.
