Far more than just another festival, the Green Gathering is a real life showcase of renewable energy and off-grid technology. Authentically uncommercial and family friendly, our aim is to turn people on to low-impact living. A festival beyond hedonism, for people who love the earth enough to want to celebrate it, and save it.

      More than music;
         a community
      and an education

On the first weekend in August, in the grounds of a ruined neo-classical country house, surrounded by woodland with stunning views of the rivers Wye and Severn, and in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you'll find:
folk, funk, punk and soul; poetry, comedy and art; dance, traditional medicine, ancient wisdom and crafts; campaigns to put right current injustices and practical skill-sharing for sustainable futures.

  Art can make ideas fly

The Green Gathering has a history - stretching back decades - entwined with the Green and Peace movements, Glastonbury Festival, Stonehenge and Climate Camp. We've been through ups and downs, grown big, been busted and gone back to our roots. Join us, in 2014, at the original off-grid festival.

VALENTINE SPECIAL:
Wow!
For every ticket order placed on St Valentine's Day (that's 14th Feb for the non-romantics), we'll send you SEIZE THE DAY's brand new CD Standing Strong, absolutely packed with inspiring lyrics and rhythms.*

Tickets are selling a lot faster than last year: at this rate, there may not be any left to sell on the gate. To be sure of a ticket and to help our cashflow - buy now, buy now for £80 - price will increase in early Spring.

MUSIC
Yes, Seize The Day will be gracing our stages again this year. The combination of genuine angst and deep joy expressed by this legendary "radical English acoustic band with global roots" is unmissable.

Speaking of legends... Nik Turner! Here's your chance to meet the eccentric, innovative, enigmatic "psychedelic godfather" of Hawkwind, Space Ritual, Outriders of the Apocalypse and Project 9 fame.

Lesser known but no less captivating, we've got the Formidable Vegetable Sound System, with their Aussie electro-swing permaculture ukelele sounds and "songs about sustainability that dont require you go out, buy a djembe and tie-dye your shirt!"

Check our live music line up for more info on recent bookings, including Flatworld and The Brickshed.

SPEAKERS & POETS
We've recently updated our Speakers' Forum page. New additions to the line up include Simon Fairlie (The Land), Jenny Jones (Green Party, London Assembly, Baroness in the House of Lords) and Paul Mobbs (Free Range Activist).

On the Raconteurs' Stage we'll have Salena Godden and Pete the Temp, both from the bright lights and big smoke of Londinium where, in their own peculiar ways, they attempt to neutralise the beastly corporations with poetry, wit, comedy and charm. You'll laugh and cry.

CO-OPERATORS' CAMP
How to build stronger communities, weather the storms of austerity, and keep working towards environmental sustainability? Could co-operation be the key? "Imagine housing without landlords, work without bosses, taking financial control away from the banks and organising without hierarchy." If that sounds good to you, check out the radical Co-ops' Camp GG will be hosting this year.

TIPIS & DOGS
If you fancy an authentic experience of low-impact living with a generous dash of comfort at GG 2014, you can Hire a Tipi (numbers are limited; book early).

This year, for the first time, we're trying out Dog Tickets. These are even more limited than tipis, so please only buy one if you really, really need to! Check our Tickets page for details (halfway down, T&Cs apply).

NOW SEEKING STEWARDS
GG Stewards work three six-hour shifts and have one full day off + food. Volunteers, please apply to stewards@greengathering.org.uk

SUPPORTING GREEN GATHERING
Switching to Good Energy or Ecotricity? Sign up via this newsletter or the GG website - it won’t cost you extra, and we'll receive a small commission, which will go towards making GG even more green and gorgeous.

Finally, if you'd like to feature on our Supporters' page, please email em@greengathering.org.uk for info.

We hope to see you all at Green Gathering 2014

*PS it's one lovely CD per order, not per ticket :)
