Egg-Free Advice

Phase 1 relies on eggs and fish for the major source of protein. Unfortunately some of you likely have an egg sensitivity which can make Phase 1 even more of a challenge. We both found out over a year ago that we can't have eggs either so made some modifications to some recipes where eggs are not the main ingredient. Here is some advice will help those of you who can't eat eggs.

Some of the side dishes/salads call for the Homemade Mayonnaise. In some instances you can still enjoy these dishes with minor modifications. The Calico Slaw and The Shredded Carrot Salad, eliminate the raw apple cider vinegar and use the Herb Vinaigrette in place of the mayonnaise.

The Broiled Flounder with Herb Mayonnaise calls for the Herb Mayonnaise. My mom made it tonight and rather than using the mayo she used a small amount of ghee in its place. She said it worked well and gave the fish a buttery flavor.

As for breakfast she created some really great egg-free options on our site.
