The US Beer Invasion Has Begun!

We've had a whole heap of fantastic beers from the US land in the last week. They are exceptional beers - however they are also in very limited quantities so you will need to get in very quick - details of some of them are at the bottom of this email.

Also it's been a while since we've done a store update so have listed out those received in the last couple of weeks below. We're happy to say we're now above 650 beers and growing strong!

TAP 1: Red Duck 1851 Golden Ale

Red Duck 1851 is a refreshing, golden ale that is clean and crisp. Brewed with Nelson Sauvin hops. This beer was crafted with a nod to the rich brewing and Gold Rush history of Ballarat. Brewed by a direct descendant of Thomas Hiscock, who discovered gold near Buninyong in 1851 which started the Victorian Gold Rush.

TAP 2: Flat Rock 5-Nil Australian Ale

This beer is all about Australia.

It’s a celebratory Australian Pale Ale, made specially for Australia day. Much like our cricketers, this beer is all home-grown… (cough Pietersen, Trott, Prior, Stokes) featuring a healthy dose of our own local stars Galaxy and Ella. At a sessionable 3.9%, 5-Nil happens to match the approval rate of the English national team!

A mixed grain bill of pale, wheat and Vienna malts gives 5-Nil is light gold colour, which we feel pairs nicely with a green singlet. An approachable 30 IBUs, 5-Nil is for a warm day, all day. And do let it warm just a tad to notice our dry-hopping regime, healthy and lengthy much like Mitchell Johnson’s mo.

PRE FILLED: Young Henrys Brew Am I

Moving on from Young Henry's first “rockstar brews” with Crow and Front End Loader last year, comes this beer launched for You Am I’s 20th anniversary tour. Conceived with the band to represent their origins (wheat from WA, malt from Victoria, hops from New Zealand), and named by Tim Rogers, it is designed not so much to represent a style but more a lifestyle. The beer is designed as a brew that fans can drink before, during and after their gigs - it’s a fruity, five per cent summery pale-coloured ale that is eminently sessionable. It features new Kiwi hop Kohatu, that lends the beer “floral, spicy and piney characters”. The beer is sold in branded pre-filled squealers.
