February 2014 Newsletter

Hello fellow Bedlamites,

We've been fairly quiet recently, but we've been hard at work and we're really excited to announce our plans for Friends of Bedlam over the next year, just in time to celebrate our 11th birthday!

1. Membership is free!
2. How to connect with Friends of Bedlam
3. Our hunt for photos of Bedlam Theatre Conversions...

Free Membership

We've decided to make our membership free, and it's open to anyone interested in the Bedlam Theatre and its members - whether you're a former member yourself or a keen supporter of emerging theatre.

Today's our 11th birthday, and In celebration we're proud to be launching our new website. All your details from the old site will be available on the new one - the only thing that's changed is your password. You'll shortly receive an email with your new login details. You can always change this back from your profile page.

As a registered member, you'll get access to the members area of the website where you'll be able to create/update your profile and you'll be able to search the directory and connect with old friends (and current ones too!) You'll also be able to chat on the forums where current Bedlam members can ask advice to help with their projects.

We'll be regularly updating the site with stories from all of you, as well as news of what current and former members are up to.

You can check out the new website at www.friendsofbedlam.co.uk.

How to Connect

We're hoping to create a wider network of Bedlamites around the UK and abroad.

We've tapped into popular social media resources (Facebook & Twitter), where we try to keep an eye out for what ex-Bedlam and DramSoc folks are up to, and share photos from our archives.

If you're involved in projects, we'd love to hear about them - please get in touch!

We're furiously adding content to our new site and we'd love to hear more about what you'd like to see on the website. If you have any photos, videos, newspaper clippings or stories you'd like to share, please send them our way and we can add those too.

Additionally, if you are currently working in the arts and know of opportunities we can advertise to current and recent Bedlam members looking for work, or would like to host a workshop - get in touch, as we're looking to get some projects off the ground.

Theatre Conversions

We're looking for stories and photos about any and all Bedlam and DramSoc shows and projects, but we're putting a special call-out for content about theatre conversions. We're putting together a photo album on Facebook to showcase all of the theatre company's conversions - big and small.

If a show you remember isn't represented in the album then let us know - or better yet, send us some photos! If you were involved in a conversion, you probably remember the excitement of the ambition of the project as well as sleepless nights getting everything ready. Sharing your photos and stories can really inspire current Bedlam members.

You can send us photos and stories on the new website, our Facebook page, you can DM us on Twitter or drop us an email at info@friendsofbedlam.co.uk.
Thanks for reading, and hope to hear from you soon!
