Welcome to new IMI team members!

IMI is very pleased to introduce the newest members of its team: Elena Fiddian-Qasmiyeh and Barzoo Eliassi on the (Re)Conceptualising stateless diasporas in the EU project that is part of the Oxford Diasporas Programme (ODP); Zoë Falk joins us as Administrative Assistant; and Marie-Laurence Flahaux who joins the Determinants of International Migration (DEMIG) project.

CALL FOR PAPERS: Determinants of International Migration

23–25 September 2014 | Wolfson College, Oxford

The aim of this interdisciplinary conference is to advance evidence-based and theoretical understanding of the determinants of migration processes, organised as the culmination of the Determinants of International Migration (DEMIG) project.

*The deadline for abstracts is 15 February 2014

CALL FOR PAPERS: Moroccan Migration

22–24 May 2014 | Fez, Morocco

IMI with the Euro-Mediterranean University in Fez invite researchers working on Moroccan migration to submit contributions for this interdisciplinary workshop on the transformations, transitions and future prospects of Moroccan migration.

* Abstracts are due by 15 February 2014

Oliver Bakewell calls for relaunch of migration systems

In a new article published in the Migration Studies journal, IMI Co-Director Oliver Bakewell puts forward a new conceptualization of migration systems as the basis for its revival.
