Fratello's
Greetings!

Well, look on the bright side. At least we're not in Atlanta, or even Birmingham (hey there!). Poor devils (or is it peaches?). Thankfully things are improving for those folks down south, and for us as well. By the way, isn't it a touch pitiful when 28 degrees seems like a heat wave? But it is getting better (hooray!), warmer, nicer, it's even sunny out. Looks to me like it might be time to celebrate our change of fortune and head out for a nice meal and beverage of your choice. We will be featuring this weekend Yellow Tail Snapper from California, Lemon Sole from Massachusetts and Hickory Smoked Certified Angus Beef Brisket as specials, and we will continue to feature Veal and Shrimp and Calamari and Clams and Mussels and Eggplant and Pasta and....

On our wine feature board we continue to run with the Cabernet from Joel Gott and the locations E from Spain as we have for quite some time, largely because that are both very good and a good value, but we now have 3 Italian wines to join them as wine features. The Nero D'Avola from Villa Pozzi offers the indigenous grape varietal from Sicily, the Pegasus Toscana is a blend of Sangiovese and Syrah from Tuscany, and I have brought back the excellent Dolcetto D'Alba from Gagliasso from Piedmont. Essentially you have a choice of wines and grapes from the length of Italy by the bottle or by the glass, and they all work very well with our menu. The Dolcetto is typically a lighter varietal, some people comparing it to Beaujolais, yet this effort by Gagliasso is a more robust and bigger style of Dolcetto, and is probably better suited for this time of year (especially this year!), the Nero D'Avola perhaps providing a touch more fruit and the Pegasus Toscana a bit more acidity, which makes it an excellent food wine. I urge you to try these wines. If all else fails, there is always Conway Irish on tap, or Famous Grouse, or Grey Goose, or Stoly, or Knob Creek, or 3 Olives, or Tangueray, or...

Your continued support through all that Mother Nature has thrown at us this month and all these years is very much appreciated. Thank you sincerely, and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Ciao
