Marriage Builders
Here are some diagnostic questions for your marriage:
• Do you feel loved and respected by your spouse?
• Can you discuss anything and everything with your spouse?
• Are you always ready to listen?
• Do you feel like you really know your spouse?
• Are you close friends with your spouse?
• Can you quickly resolve conflicts?
• Do you regularly make time to be with each other?
• Is there real intimacy in your marriage?
As you think about these questions, you may say, “Hey, we are not where we would like to be! Is there a place for us to grow in these areas?”
Yes there is. We are bringing The Marriage Builder to our church. This is not a weekend retreat or a lecture series but is an experiential workshop. It’s a place where real couples with real issues can seek God’s truth and, over time, see God bless their marriages with real results.
Dave Carder, our Counseling Pastor, puts it this way:
The Marriage Builder is a 20-week program utilizing materials written by Dr. Larry Crabb. The workbook involved is authorized by him, but won’t be published until after this class is completed. Here is a unique and practical opportunity, built on biblical concepts, taught by an experienced teaching couple, and is basically free! Registration is $75, BUT, complete the 10-week class and you will receive a $50 American Express Gift Card. Register online or call Lisa Fukumoto at 714.257.4315.
If you know of a couple on the verge of marriage failure, bored with monotony, or desperate for a different relationship, then send them to The Marriage Builder, our new marital intensive course.
Who should attend? The Marriage Builder’s material suggests:
• Couples with strong marriages who want to deepen and enrich their relationships
• Newlywed couples who want to establish firm foundations for the rest of their lives
• Couples who have some struggles and are experiencing distance in their relationships
• Couples who have serious struggles that threaten their relationships
• Couples who have experienced serious breaks in trust and are considering separation or divorce, are separated already, or have filed for divorce.
God intended marriage to be an intimate, loving, and wonderful experience. Help is available if you want to grow!

“Why Do We Go?”
On Sunday, Missions Pastor Dan Crane, Katie Humerian (high school lead), her husband Lee, and Scott Fisher left on a ten day trip to Ukraine. The plan is for them to help set up for the high school and college summer teams, to visit church missionaries and to deepen our church partnership with the Ukrainian church in L’viv. Right up until this last weekend the travelers as well as our Missions Board were in prayer and consultation over the wisdom of taking this trip to this place at this time. Read Dan’s full explanation of “Why do we go?” HERE and join us in praying for this group through the next week.
“Choosing not to cancel our trip but going and standing next to Ukrainian brothers and sisters in their homes and in their churches and meeting with our church missionaries next week will powerfully communicate that the Church in America is aware of their crisis. It communicates that we affirm their sacrifice, we are praying for them and we are supporting them. They are there for such a time as this. Our prayer is that they can rise courageously and be the light God has empowered them to be for their people.” —Dan Crane

Jesus calls us to a great journey—to follow Him wherever He leads us. He doesn’t always indicate where He is going, just how we will get to where we are headed, nor what the result will be. In fact, the process He leads us through may be as important as the place He leads us to. He asks us to follow into our neighborhoods, communities, and to the nations desiring to make Himself known in those places, as well as reveal Himself more clearly to us. The direction might be unknown but the possibilities are endless. Visit evfreefullerton.com/followjesus to see how you can follow Jesus, whether it be tutoring kids, serving the homeless with a meal, meeting your neighbors, or other opportunities.

Prayer
Every first Wednesday of the month we gather to pray for our students at 6:45 pm in the high school lobby. Once a month at 12:30 pm on Sunday, we gather over the Commons to pray about Missional initiatives at our church. There are prayer teams ready to pray with you in person following each of our four services every Sunday. 24/7, there is a place on our website where you can leave a prayer request, anonymously or otherwise, which will be transmitted to the Prayer Team. Let us pray for and with you—it is our privilege.
