Euroculture Intensive Programme 2014

Between 22 and 28 June this year, Krakow will play host to students and speakers from across Europe and around the world as they attend the Euroculture Intensive Programme 2014. Organized by the Euroculture program of Uppsala University, in close cooperation with the Jagiellonian University (Institute of European Studies), this year’s IP will feature seven days of discussion, debate, and engagement on the topic: â€œEuropean Environments: How a New Climate is Changing the Old World.”

This year’s program addresses how climate change and other environmental challenges are affecting European politics, society, and culture—but also how European individuals and institutions are responding to these challenges.

We encourage you to start reflecting on the different IP sub-themes and to (virtually) discover the exciting European environment – Krakow – in which you will be immersed.

We invite you to browse through the contents and features of the IP, its programme, important dates and related activities as well as practical information, registration and documentation, and to get acquainted with us, your Uppsala-Krakow IP Team.

Please visit the website regularly for upcoming announcements and events and do not hesitate to CONTACT US if you have any questions, requests, doubts, suggestions, ideas or comments.

We look forward to hosting you in Krakow!

The IP Team
 Uppsala
Ben  (director of studies), a Swedish-based American historian of modern Italy and Germany, he is often found listening to music or building lego with his sons, when he's not busy worrying about climate change.
Cameron
(administrator), a linguist hailing from Scotland, whose interests include science fiction, astronomy, the great apes and cetaceans. He is now being initiated in the ways of Minecraft and Pokémon by the family's young gamemeister.
   Krakow
Luc, Weapon of mass-distraction and an expert on transport and geopolitics of the north, comes to us from Quebec and is the acting coordinator for Euroculture this year. His fine sense of humour will guarantee an all but boring stay in Krakow.
Juan, one of the few Mexicans dwelling in Krakow, runs the programme's PR, visual 'identity' and acts as a student advisor. His interests include the city, Latin American literature, poetry, photography and the arts. He will take good care of you while in Krakow.
