Now on display! Mémorial de la Shoah's travelling exhibit “Hélène Berr, A Stolen Life” 

Alliance Française d’Atlanta and the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta in partnership with the Consulate General of France, the German Consulate General, the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust, and the William Breman Jewish Heritage Museum host the “Hélène Berr, A Stolen Life” exhibit created, designed, and circulated by the Mémorial de la Shoah in Paris, France. 
 
The exhibit will be on display from January 22 through March 15, 2014 at Colony Square, Plaza Level, Suite 561 in Midtown Atlanta. Click here to learn more about the exhibit.

Breaking news! Marbles belonging to Anne Frank to be exhibited for the first time in The Second World War in 100 Objects


3 February 2014, Amsterdam - The marbles that Anne Frank played with before she was forced into hiding, which are now held in the collection of the Anne Frank House, will be put on public display for the first time when His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands opens the exhibition "The Second World War in 100 Objects" at the Kunsthal Rotterdam on Tuesday 4 February. The set of marbles is one of 100 extraordinary objects from the collections of 25 Dutch war and resistance museums, each of them telling their own stories about the Second World War. The marbles, and the 99 other objects, will be exhibited at the Kunsthal Rotterdam from 5 February to 5 May 2014. Click here to learn more...

Exhibit about Liberator now on tour of libraries throughout Georgia

The Georgia Commission on the Holocaust in partnership with the Georgia Public Library Service is bringing the travelling exhibit “Witness to the Holocaust: WWII Veteran William Alexander Scott III at Buchenwald” to libraries throughout the state from January to July of 2014. The exhibit is currently on display at Augusta-Richmond County Public Library.

2/25/14 Affiliate Event: "Filming the Camps: from Hollywood to Nuremberg"


In conjunction with its ongoing exhibit running through March 15th, “Hélène Berr, A Stolen Life”,  Alliance Française and Goethe-Zentrum bring you a film screening made possible by Memorial De La Shoah Paris. "Filming the Camps" presents rare footage of the liberation of Dachau with detailed directors’ notes, narratives describing burials at Falkenau, and the documentary produced as evidence at the Nuremberg trials, among other historic material. Now, for the first time in the U.S., this material is being made available to a general audience. Click here for details...
 

2014 Art, Writing & Music Contest now open!


All middle and high school students throughout Georgia are invited to enter the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust's annual Art, Writing & Music Contest for 2014. All entries should answer the question "What are the Lessons of the Holocaust?" The submission deadline is March 4, 2014. Click here to read more...

2/23/14 Sunday Matinee: Weapons of the Spirit

Visit Anne Frank in the World: 1929-1945 for a free screening of "Weapons of the Spirit", a short documentary about the village of Le Chambon-sur Lignon where 5,000 French Christians provided food and shelter for 5,000 Jews. Running time: 35 minutes. Click here to read more...
