Last month in our newsletter we introduced the Sustainability Compass, created by Alan AtKisson to convey in simple graphic form the content and interdependent complexity of sustainability.  As a prism reveals the constituent, intermingled colors that comprise visible light, so the four cardinal points of a compass, N, E, S, and W, represent the four intermingled aspects of sustainability: Nature, Economy, Society, and individual Wellbeing.

Starting this month through May, our newsletters will each address one point of the Sustainability Compass.  This month we will focus on Wellbeing, and mostly wellbeing at the level of the individual. Next month this column will tackle societal conditions...

Auburn Undergrad Driven to End World Hunger

Recently featured in the Auburn University Take 5, Azeem Ahmed shared his story about why he is so passionate about ending world hunger. 


What is the Marriage and Family Therapy Center?

The Marriage and Family Therapy Center is a training clinic for marriage and family therapists. Therapists assist individuals, families, and couples who are experiencing challenges in everyday life.

Seeing a therapist can be a valuable addition to personal wellness.  The benefits of coming to the Marriage and Family Therapy Center is that therapists in training collaborate with highly trained and licensed supervisors to provide the best care possible.

Sustainability in Action: Tammy Hollis

Tammy Hollis has become a force for health, wellness and sustainability on Auburn’s campus.

Tammy believes in the power of individual wellness in leading a sustainable life because she asserts that without health, it’s difficult to care about the big picture, much less work toward a sustainable future.

Auburn Outdoors is Now Open!

Auburn Outdoors is a new adventure-based education program for Campus Recreation members.

They offer adventure trip programs, indoor climbing facilities, equipment rentals, and weekly special events on and off campus.

At Auburn Outdoors you will find the resources to build a better you through education, experience, and exploration.  You will build community in the wilderness and discover that there is much more to your surroundings, and to yourself.
