Construction Preparation
Construction activity in Riverfront Park will be focused in the area south of the amphitheater and on the adjacent 3.8 acre vacant lot.
Tree Removal and Replacement
February 2014 - Trees will be removed to prepare for new and widened paths and seating areas near the future Bridge landing. Federal regulations require that tree removal occur now, before birds nest in the trees. At the conclusion of the project the entire south end of Riverfront Park will be replanted with a greater number and variety of trees and shrubs. The new landscaping will provide year round interest and color.
What's Next?
Beginning soon several more activities are expected to occur to prepare for construction (these dates are estimates):
Permit Notices - March-April 2014
Construction Bids - May 2014
Construction Begins - July 2014
Communication: The City will communicate with: updates to City Council; press releases; weekly project email updates; and project signage.
