After nearly 36 years in the grocery business, Hank Binkowski opened Uptown Grocery Co. at 1230 W. Covell Rd. in February 2012. The store was established as a new concept in the Buy For Less family, featuring specialty grocery items as well as mainstream brands.

Two years later, Uptown employs approximately 200 people. The store is community centric, offering health and wellness education, shopping tours led by the company's corporate dietician and parent-child cooking classes.

Uptown continues to improve upon their concept, most recently adding online shopping. Shoppers can visit www.uptowngroceryco.com to shop online and have grocery items ready to be loaded into their cars when they arrive at the store.

As the company receives requests for additional Uptown Grocery locations, their goal is to keep their core values the same and to always feel like family as the company continues to grow.
