Bake for Family Fun! - Everyone benefits when families bake together! Join us as we recap Bake for Family Fun Month. The Home Baking Association encourages families to share traditions, favorite recipes and the joy of baking as a family not only during February, but every month of the year! Enjoy baking together as a family.

Week 1: Let's Get Started Baking



The Home Baking Association member Clabber Girl has provided a number of great Bake for Family Fun recipes and activities this month. Check out the Buttery Breakfast Biscuits Recipe, as well as the Baking Powder Fizz Activity and Family Baking Lesson. Read more here

Week 2: Baking for My Valentine
 

Sweetheart Coffeecakes are a delicious way to say "Happy Valentine's Day" to someone you love. Check out the recipe provided by Red Star Yeast. They've also shared some great lessons in Yeast & Baking to try as well. Don't fear the yeast.

February is crazy busy with Bake for Family Fun Month and other education related activities. Baking builds multiple STEM outcomes, cultural history, lends itself for Science Fair projects and good old fashioned opportunities for creating made-by-you foods.
  • STEM: Confirm students’ plant science knowledge with Teaching Kids about Wheat
  • Buff nutrition science with Grains for the Brain at www.namamilliers.org
  • Prepare students for baking science and technology with Meet Me at the Mill video
  • Add a DIY grain-to-flour experience at  Gold Medal Flour
  • Prepare to bake using Flour 101 provided by The Wheat Foods Council
  •  Science Fairs: Last week a local sixth-grade science fair featured 35+ baking experiments!
