From the President - Nina Braun
ELECTIONS 2014
Our fiscal year is coming to a close.  April is the end of our fiscal year for taxes and for the current board.  We are looking for members to run for several board positions and to fill several committee openings.
I’ve had an opportunity to serve on this board twice, now as President and a few years ago as Treasurer.  I can attest you develop deeper relationships with the women on the board and you get to know the membership much better.  As Treasurer I got to know everyone’s name and face as they paid us at the front door.  As president I was able to appear in front of the membership and get to know many of you  better from your emails and questions.  With any organization, you get out of it what you put into it.  I believe in this organization, in the networking and in the friendship and bonds I have formed over the years.
I hope some of you consider running for board positions.  The last few years, as an added incentive, the board has voted and board and committee chairs have had their membership dues waived in exchange for their service.
If you will consider running, please contact any of the current board members.

The following positions are up for elections –
President-Elect
Treasurer-Elect
Secretary

Appointed:
Committee positions –  Guest Follow-Up

March Spotlight on…
Nikkole Abbas
It has always been important to me to follow all of my passions in life. Despite whatever current project, the main driving factor has always been finding a way to use my skills and talents to improve the world in some way... or at least the lives of those immediately surrounding me in my family and community.

Because of this drive, I have dedicated a large portion of my life towards working in nonprofit organizations. I have worked primarily in the field of drug and alcohol prevention and health education and promotion.

Gradually, I have been spending more and more of my time building our business, 7Gens.

I really enjoy meeting people and talking about technology. If it's all Geek to you, don't worry. I can talk "real people" too! :) I love being able to help people understand what we are doing for them and why. Recently I have also started spending more of my time helping with website design, development and maintenance, and I am having a blast! I have also been busy in my spare time with learning some coding and programming languages. I may have missed my calling and wish I had started right out of high school! But I guess it's never too late to start and I am excited to see what more we can build for our clients once I have enough skills to build apps for web and mobile! (fingers crossed)

As I have been making this transition to the business world, I have not forgotten my passions, nor my nonprofit roots. 7Gens specializes in what we call "Websites that Matter." We  enjoy using our talents to help nonprofit organizations and socially responsible businesses to share the great ways they are working to create a better, happier, healthier, and more sustainable world for us all. I'd also really love to help build a support network for other socially responsible or sustainable businesses in the Black Hills area.

I can't imagine anything else I'd rather be doing. After all, if you can turn your love into your living, and do it all while bringing more love into the world, isn't that really living?
