With more than half of Phase 1 behind us, it's time to start thinking about Phase 2, which will be here before you know it!

Read today's post that has Phase 2 prep tips including a downloadable Phase 2 Shopping List

Goals and Rewards

Having a reward for your efforts always helps a person to stick with their goal. For most of us who have made this diet a lifestyle we started to see a positive changes in symptoms and weight loss in the beginning weeks. This was the reward and incentive to stay on track.

Along those lines, I want to share a short story with you. It starts with confession.

I hadn't eaten eggs or dairy for 18 months. My doctor told me I should try to add egg yolks and ghee back in to my diet because my cholesterol is too low. I decided to start Phase 1 one week before everyone so I could make sure these two new foods wouldn't cause me a problem. I will move on to Phase 2 with the group on Monday.

Starting over in Phase 1 allowed me to lose the weight I put on in January. First I had my brother's wedding weekend (lots of eating) and then I spent a few days at my parents house (even more eating)! I stuck with the diet but ate way more than usual. I noticed my pants were getting snug and the scale confirmed I gained 5 pounds. In the 11 days I've been in Phase 1 though, I've dropped 6 pounds. As I said earlier this week, weight loss really can be a side effect of this diet.
