The McGrew Family February Update

Meet the McGrews!

In about 3 weeks, we will be heading to the USA for a 3-week visit and fundraising trip.  We are looking forward to seeing many of you and meeting other new faces.  We have a fundraising goal to meet (more info below), so this is partially a work trip, and partially a visit.  We have several events planned, and we are still adding some additional times and dates, so watch for our completed schedule a week or so before our departure.  We want to see as many of you as possible.  We are planning to be in the Peoria area, the Bushnell/Macomb area, and the Attica/Lafayette area.

USA Trip Events (Partial List)

March 16th- Service at Northside Church of the Nazarene, Peoria, IL
March 29th- Supporter Dinner (Please RSVP)
March 30th- Service at Williamsport Christian Church, Williamsport, IL
April 6th- Service at Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene, Hillsboro, IN

Noteworthy News

February has been a slow month for us, due mainly to illness.  We've all been under the weather at various times, and we've missed more events and services then we would have preferred. Thankfully, we are all on the mend now, and are hoping to stay healthy for our upcoming travels.  Here are a few of the highlights from February thus far:
  • The new Men's Ministry at the Sofia church has completed it's first two meetings, and there has been a positive response.  Six men attended the last meeting, where Don let the group in a devotional, followed by game time together.  This is a much-needed ministry in this community, and it's exciting to see it beginning strong.
  • Don and Doug Mann (a ministry teammate) visited the Nazarene-owned land to map out the proposed building and decide its orientation.  It was exciting to meet the team there later in the day to stand in the footprint and get a feel for the space.  The business plan is completed, and the project is on track, much to the excitement of the entire team.
  • We have been enjoying unseasonably warm weather, with nearly a week of days in the 70's F.  So refreshing to be able to open the windows and air out the sickness.

Partnership Update

As we prepare for our trip to the USA, we've done our taxes, reviewed our budget, and we are thrilled that no significant changes to our financial goals were needed.  We're within reach of the finish line!  A few weeks ago, we needed $30,000 to complete our fundraising goals for the remaining 17 months of our time in Sofia.  Now, that number is rapidly approaching $25,000!  We are praying that this goal can be fully met while we are in the USA, so that we no longer have to focus time and energy on fundraising, and can instead focus on the work that needs to be done here in Sofia. Thank you to everyone who has faithfully supported us this far, and those who will continue to do so for the remainder of our term!  We are blessed with a wonderful support team.

Please pray with us about this financial need and that we will meet our goal.  If you are not already a member of our prayer and/or financial support teams, please prayerfully consider joining us in the work God is doing in Sofia!  We'd love to hear from you soon.
