April is for student (startups)
April is usually the time when our inboxes get crammed with requests for jobs, internships and invitations to career fairs. This spring, the focus definitely seems to be equally divided between seeking an employer and becoming one. Take for example, the

Upstate NY Tech Career Connection in Ithaca, the student organized
Emerging Talk conference in Syracuse, Colgate's
Entrepreneur Weekend, and numerous
NYS Business Plan regional competitions. Makes you wonder who is actually showing up for class!
StartFast applications due
Syracuse based
Startfast Venture Accelerator is now accepting applications for its 2014 summer program. StartFast offers $25,000 per team (in return for 7% common stock) with an option for up to $75,000 in additional convertible note financing. Further program details and link to online application can be found on the
StartFast website. Last date for applying is March 31.
