Welcome to the 1st edition of the MSA Alumni Newsletter. We hope you have all settled into your new jobs, wherever you may be! Our aim for this year is to set the foundations for a more cohesive GKT alumni community. In this and future newsletters, we hope to keep you informed about what’s going on at GKT and let you know about events and opportunities that you can get involved with. We hope you enjoy it!

Institute of Medical Ethics (IME) Bursaries & Grants

The IME has some fantastic awards on offer to Foundation Year doctors for producing pieces to express their reactions ethical issues they have met on their clinical attachments.
|
|
We rely on the experience and expertise of our alumni to help us run a variety of academic events. As a thank you for giving up your time, you will receive a certificate of recognition from the MSA for your portfolios.

Academic Foundation Interview Programme Workshop
Monday 21st October (evening)
Guy’s Campus
We are looking for 3-4 academic foundation trainees to help facilitate this workshop that is being organised by King's Careers & Employability with the support of the MSA.

A debate co-hosted with the Economics Society. We are looking for speakers to take part in the debate, so if you are interested in speaking please let us know by emailing alumni@kclmsa.co.uk
Spectators are also more than welcome, so do come along for what promises to be a thrilling debate.

Charity Netball Tournament

The GKT Netball, Hockey and Rugby clubs are co-hosting a charity netball tournament at HOP to raise money for RAG. Followed by a joint social in the new clubhouse- what better way to spend a Wednesday afternoon?

Re-Opening of Honour Oak Park: Guy’s Hospital RFC vs Cambridge RFC
Sunday 20th October
Kick Off 2:30pm
In 1936 the original clubhouse at HOP was opened, followed by a celebratory match between Guy’s and Cambridge. 77 years on, the new clubhouse is ready to be officially opened with a match seeing the 2 teams meet again. Food and drink will be available throughout what is sure to be a brilliant day, so come along! We hope to see you there. www.facebook.com/events/578088735557314/
