Welcome to Missions Emphasis Week
Hello, Pastor Bo here.
Last August 90 people in our congregation said, “Yes, I want to go on a Short Term Mission Trip (STMT) in the next year or so.” The Pastoral Staff has put together two Sundays in March that will show you some ways for you to do just that.
We have asked people within our congregation and others to tell you about their STMTs and what they meant to them. On March 9, Jan Bean (Compassion Corps), Tom Laymon (Sunday Breakfast Mission), and Ed Rowse and Art Brosius (Business Training Institute) will tell you their stories and invite you to be part of a short term mission experience in the U. S. or elsewhere in the world.
Chris Zwakenberg will do the same on Sunday, March 16. Chris became a believer through BVBC’s high school ministry, while on a BVBC short term mission trip to Haiti. He has led many such trips while a Ministry Assistant on our staff and elsewhere.
We will have tables set up in our Gathering Area where people can get more information and sign up for trips in 2014.
We want you to see that ministering to the material needs of people and proclaiming the death and resurrection of Christ go together.
We want you to see that other people just like you, whom you know, are making a difference in the city of Wilmington and across oceans. So can you.
