Average state personal income growth slowed to 2.6 percent in 2013 from 4.2 percent in 2012, according to estimates recently released by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA). State personal income growth ranged from 1.5 percent in West Virginia to 7.6 percent in North Dakota, with every state growing more slowly in 2013 than in 2012...

STEM workers are those employed in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics occupations. This includes computer and mathematical occupations, engineers, engineering technicians, life scientists, physical scientists, social scientists, and science technicians. STEM is subject-matter driven. As such, it includes managers, teachers, practitioners, researchers, and technicians. Gender pay gap a complex issue

It’s easy to say that, if women hold just as many legal jobs as men, but are paid so much less, the discrepancy must all be due to workplace discrimination. Much of the rhetoric in media has centered on this seemingly easy-to-interpret statistic. However, these data do not reflect the actual level of jobs held by males versus females since they include all legal occupations from lawyers with higher pay to  paralegals and legal administrative assistants with lower pay levels, and different educational qualifications.
