Dear family and friends,
You've probably been seeing and hearing a lot about Ukraine, if you keep up with the news. It's been an "interesting" time here. While the conflict was mostly in Kyiv, it was far from us, but our hearts were very involved. Now that the "hot spot" is Crimea, it's physically close, and we're still praying for Ukraine non-stop. But, I'm not going to write about that; here is what we've been doing in December, January and February.
Actually, these past few months have been quite similar to what I wrote about last time. Will works in the Agape office about three days a week, translating for the web site, correspondence, reports, and whatever else needs to be done. On days that he doesn't go in, he often does more of the same from home. (Or. lately, works on our residency documents and other running around for our family.) He has also continued to study at the Agape ministry school, with sessions in Uzhgorod and Lvov.
I (Phyllis) have gotten involved with weekly visits to Tsyurupinsk Home for Disabled Children across the river from us. That makes Saturdays the highlight of my week. We usually do something like Sunday school lessons with two groups of older kids, and sometimes feed and play with the younger ones individually. I really, really enjoy this and love the kids there; pray for me to have the strength and energy I need for them.
Our holiday season was very different from what we've been used to over the years. While our children were involved in various church and other programs, we pretty much just sat back and attended events... or enjoyed our own unhurried celebrations at home. Maybe that doesn't sound too unusual, but after years of organizing, setting up, helping out, and then staying afterwards to clean up and put away, it was very strange (and pleasant) for us. We also really enjoyed hosting guests on a few different occasions!
Thank you for your love, prayers, and support for us. Please continue to pray with us for Ukraine!
God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear...
The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our refuge...
He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He burns the chariot in the fire.
Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!
(Psalm 46)
Love and prayers from,
Will and Phyllis Hunsucker
with Jaan, Raia, Asya, and Bogdan
