TV Stars
May not be Hollywood, but... Signs of Love Honduran Deaf missionaries (Nancy and Orlan) were interviewed on a local television program in La Ceiba along with Jessie and Zenia. It was a fun, hour-long live program making its viewers aware of the incredible things God is doing in, with, and amongst the deaf in Honduras! Click here to watch a little clip.

Inspiration
We all want our lives to matter... and John Miller is a great example of that! He's a beloved friend to SofL, and at 97 he’s an incredible blessing to us, helping us move mountains, and loving us every step along the way! To this day he believes in working hard, acting kindly, and speaking positively. His life has no room for hate or fear. He still flies by himself, and plans to do it more often!...and he’s Deaf.
John Miller = inspiration.

Social Media
Facebook has found its way to our rural villages... and how fun it is to see our fliers posted by our participants! What a glorious thing that these youth do not know what a life without language is like because SofL has been in their lives since they were young. AND because of these youth, others that come along after them will have language. In these villages, the deaf having no language and a life of isolation is obsolete!!!

Operation Honduras
What an awesome time of reconnecting with old relationships and making new ones... thanks to Operation Honduras! Twenty-eight children had the opportunity to have hearing exams done and molds for hearing aids. In addition, we were able to connect with 4 new families with deaf children, and get them connected with a newly developing language program we'll be starting!

SofL Staff Retreat
TRABAJO means many things... and we learned 7 traits about that word. As servants at SofL, we want to live up to our potential in Christ to accomplish His grand tasks. We're grateful He has chosen us to do this work, He has equipped us, and we're serious about doing it! Each month this year we're going to get to know one another better by trying something each others likes. Robin shared that Jeff always did this with her - he would eat and do the things she liked so that he would understand her all the more. So we started with Jessie...she likes to dip her french fries in a chocolate Frosty from Wendy's. It was fun getting to learn something about Jessie, and actually trying it ourselves to understand a little more about her. You should try it!

Special Days
Turning the ordinary into extraordinary... can be done with just a little effort, and that's what we seek to do at SofL. In Honduras, often birthdays aren't celebrated with cake and candles, not because it's not wanted, but because it cannot be afforded. What a blessing it is for us to celebrate birthdays with cake and candles for His beloveds. Making others feel loved can be so simple, and in that process they are being touched by His heart (col.1:27).

Audacious Faith
Faith is perhaps the greatest untapped resource... we have to meet the needs of humanity. Without it, we are constrained to our own limits, yet with it, we are a source of God’s limitless activity. To read more from Robin's blog click here.

One Message: Love
It all comes down to this - love... and finding ways to let others know they are truly loved by The One, and having them embrace that wholeheartedly. Sometimes we do that by simply telling others, and other times we get creative...like serving an elegant lunch for no other reason than 'it's Tuesday.' We want to get better at seizing those moments to communicate Love.

Pray Honduras
Let's not forget we have divine power to demolish strongholds... this bumper sticker reminds us. We're starting to see these stickers throughout the land. This is a great movement spurred from Jeff Harter's and Steve Holtrust's going Home. In the coming months we'll share more uplifting details of what this movement is doing.

New Ones Abound
And they are all unique and worthy... meet Juan Carlos! When we met him, it was the first time he was called by his name in a long, long time. His family and community call him "deaf-one" and struggled to remember his given name when we asked for it. Please pray with us that Juan Carlos will come to know the love of the One that calls him by name (Isaiah43.1). Pray the darkness in those little eyes and life will flee at the Light brought to him in Jesus (1Thes5.5)!

Jenga
This game is more than just stacking blocks... it's building relationships for us. We all love to have fun and be challenged, and what better way to do this than introduce a new game! We've been teaching and leaving this game in the various villages we serve, and it's a great reminder that building relationships should be enjoyable and fun. May we all be reminded that our effectiveness depends on the relationships we have.

Published in Minero
We treasure this partnership more than gold... Byron Gomez from Escuela Angeles shared this magazine with us! They published an article about the school's collaboration with Signs of Love. We are so blessed to have Byron and everyone at Escuela Angeles in our lives!

The Deaf Church
At this church, everyone participates in sermon applications... whether it's dramas or songs. Everyone takes part in coming up with a drama or song that depicts what they learned in the sermon. Imagine doing this after you hear a sermon. How much more would it sink into your mind and heart? How encouraging it is to watch this congregation come up with heartfelt dramas and worship songs from what they learned.

Partnering
A first-time in Santa Barbara... we are so proud of our Honduran Deaf missionaries! They have traveled to another part of the country BY THEMSELVES to teach Lesho to a group of very motivated Hondurans. The following is what their host, Byron Gomez from Escuela Angeles, had to say about them and this event: From the city of La Ceiba, the Signs of Love foundation sent three of their Deaf teachers, Nancy, Orlan, and Eduin who are incredible examples of achievement and worthy of imitation. It was wonderful to share again with Orlan, Nancy, Eduin and Maria. The workshop was excellent. We couldn't agree more that these three Deaf are incredible examples of achievement and worthy of imitation!

Their Story, Our Story
It's interesting to think... how they have been learning of God’s love story for them from the moment God sent SofL to find them…it was for love that ”the Lady with the Big Red Hair” sought them out in their isolated home. It was for love that the deaf leaders of SofL pursued them month after month, year after year. To read more of Jessie's blog and be inspired by love click here.
