Maha Shivaratri - the great night of Shiva - opens the door to the soul. This is why we approach Shiva’s energy through meditation, stories, poetry, pictures and music - to get a taste of reality, and to experience of what cannot be thought or said. To read and feel between the lines, to hear the silence in the music… All of that is Shiva! As the one beyond all desires he can give any blessing. As the commander of the five elements of creation he can create things anew. As cosmic dancer he decharges any form of negativity. All these images and stories tell about an intelligence that penetrates everything and is taking care of us… whenever we trust. To experience the Shiva Consciousness is to experience what is beyond the limitations of mind, which is mostly attached to concepts. It is the experience of reality - of who we are, where we come from and where we go to.
The possibility of having such an experience are auspicious during the Shivaratri time.
Traditionally the night leading into the Shivaratri day is celebrated with Shiva Bhajans, Pujas and Meditation. The extraordinary high Shiva energy is accessable throughout all three new moon days and is very auspicious for powerful Shivaratri meditation processes.
