Death Valley Driver Release "Smoke Whip" Video On Revolvermag.com
(Charlottetown, PE) - Prince Edward Island's Death Valley Driver have released their new music video "Smoke Whip" on Revolver's website.
The video was shot over two days in November by Colin MacDonald (Foster Avenue Productions) in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Loosely conceptualized off the Jim Jones Cult, the video portrays the band's vocalist Dan Hodgson as the cult leader.
"Colin really is the MVP of this whole video. His direction and vision really captured the dark lyrics of the song." commented vocalist Dan Hodgson. "The final product is something we are really proud of. We can't wait for people to see the twisted visions he came up with. He had me play the cult leader, which could have ended in disaster. But thanks to his comforting demeanor, it was something I had a lot of fun with."
Smoke Whip is off their most recent album 'Graveyard Dead' which was released in June 2013 by Diminished Fifth Records and can be streamed at this location.

About Death Valley Driver
Since 2008, Charlottetown, PEI’s Death Valley Driver has been making the red mud of the Island a little more crimson with their bloody mix of swamp metal. The band’s sophomore album, Graveyard Dead is Death Valley Driver’s love letter to the heavy metal bands who've influenced their sound. The songs keep the aggression of modern metal, while mixing it with the attitude and testosterone of classic acts like Kiss, AC/DC, Black Sabbath and Motorhead.
This will be the band’s second release for Dartmouth-based label Diminished Fifth Records. Graveyard Dead was engineered at Lukas Raine Recordings with Dave Skinner. For mixing and mastering, the band chose to work with a master in the field of sludge metal in Billy Anderson (The Melvins, Neurosis, Orange Goblin, High On Fire, Brutal Truth).
Their debut album "Choke The River" was engineered by Haywire's David Rashed. The album has gotten rave reviews and had charted nationally on several Loud charts on university radio, peaking so far at number 3. Their song "Sleeping All December" is being used as the entrance music for Ring of Honor tag team The Briscoes.
In February of 2012, Death Valley Driver won Music PEI's Loud Recording Of The Year, as well as being nominated for Group Recording of the Year and Best New Artist. They were also nominated for Loud Recording Of The Year for 2012 by the ECMA.
The five-piece has shared the stage with Metallica, Coheed & Cambria, Seether, 3 Inches of Blood, Goatwhore, Morbid Angel, Cryptopsy, August Burns Red, Lagwagon, Protest The Hero, Misery Index, Obscura and many others.
