Hearing a diagnosis of cancer can be can be very hard for the patient as well as family and friends. In advanced cancers it can even be perceived as a completely hopeless situation. Fear and panic sets in. Some patients surrender to the prognosis while others decide their time has not come and want to live. Bone marrow suppression, a decreased ability to manufacture red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets, is a common side effect of chemotherapy. Chemotherapy targets rapidly dividing cells and does not differentiate between the bad cells, cancer cells and bone marrow cells, that will later become red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. This is why chemotherapy side effects often are anemia and leukopenia.

The issue with low blood cell count after chemotherapy is a major problem because it makes the patient susceptible to infection and to cancer regrowth. Therefore it is important to rebuild the immune system right after chemotherapy. Read about our cancer recovery program

5 Elements Miracle Soup

The five elements miracle soup or broth is commonly used in natural healing for its anti-cancer properties. It was created by Dr. Tateishi Kazu who based the soup on the principles of the five elements theory in Chinese medicine. The harmonizing balance of the forces of yin and yang, acid and alkaline, that generates health; in contrast to the imbalance, which leads to disease. Read more
 

Ingredients:
16 ounces white daikon radish
12 ounces white daikon radish greens
10 ounces carrot
8 ounces burdock root
3-5 fresh shitake mushrooms (sundried)

Directions:

  1. Prepare the vegetables by washing the greens and mushrooms and scrubbing the roots. Do not peel the vegetables. Use them as is for optimal benefit. Chop the vegetables into small pieces.
  2. There will be no salt or seasonings added to the soup.
  3. Fill a non-toxic pot with 14 cups of water or three times the quantity of water as the vegetables. Enamel or stainless steel pots are good choices. Add the vegetables and bring to a boil. Once the soup starts to boil, reduce the heat and simmer for two hours.
  4. Strain the soup to separate the broth.
  5. The broth is ready to drink.
  6. Fill up several 16oz or 8oz mason jars for storage in refrigerator and later use.
  7. You can also drink the soup simply as a water replacement.
