  Ash Wednesday and Grace and Grits
Wednesday, March 5th!
Sanford Civic Center, 401 E. Seminole Blvd.  Sanford.

-This year we are connecting our observance of Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent with our love for God's people in downtown Sanford as we serve delicious food to our hungry neighbors.   You can cook meals(2:00pm), serve the food(5:00pm), help clean up(5:30) and be a friendly face.  The short worship service will start at 6:30pm.  Invite your friends and neighbors! A LENTEN INVITATION:  Fast, Pray, Save, and Share For Open Hearts Foster Care Ministry!
Lent is a 40 day (excluding Sundays) season of prayer, confession, fasting, and self denial that prepares us to celebrate the great season of Easter!  It is a tremendous time of growth for Christians because God often reveals what we need to die to in ourselves in order to live more fully in Jesus Christ. 

Like Jesus, God wants us to practice fasting and self-denial in order to strengthen our faith and prepare us for ministry to a world in need.  I invite each of you to choose to fast from something or deny yourself some pleasure.  Assign a dollar value to that and place the money you would have spent on that activity in a jar to be presented at Church on Easter Sunday.  Our contributions will support the families of Open Hearts Foster Care Ministry.
