The Women's and Diversity Grants Program has extended the application deadline to April 1.

Individual grants of up to $5,000 are awarded for initiatives that will enrich the experiences of women and diverse faculty, staff, and students at Iowa State.

State Historical Society of Iowa Accepting 2014/2015 Research Grant Proposals


SHSI will award up to ten stipends of $1,000 to support original research and interpretive writing related to the history of Iowa or Iowa and the Midwest. Applications will be judged on the basis of their potential for producing work appropriate for publication in The Annals of Iowa, SHSI's scholarly journal. Applications must be postmarked by April 15, 2014.

Iowa Arts Council Announced Artist Fellowship Program
The Artist Fellowship seeks to recognize the impact that individual artists have on the vitality of the arts in Iowa. The Artist Fellowship will provide support to individuals who demonstrate exceptional creativity in the arts and the capacity for continued contributions to the excellence and innovation of the arts in the State of Iowa.

Applications for the 2014 Artist Fellowship are due May 1. More information can be found in the Artist Fellowship Guidelines

Iowa Humanities Festival 2014


A World at Home - A Home in the World

The Iowa Humanities Festival welcomes Iowans to explore significant themes through the lens of the academic and public humanities. Presenters from Iowa colleges, universities, museums, libraries, and archives as well as the venues highlight rich tradition of the humanities in Iowa.

Two faculty members from Iowa State will be presenting: John Warne Monroe (above left), Associate Professor of History and Neil Nakadate (above right), Professor (Emeritus) of English. The Alliance for the Arts in Research Universities (a2ru) invites proposals for panels, breakout sessions, creative submissions and posters for its 2014 national conference hosted by Iowa State University, November 5-8, 2014. Faculty, administrators, staff, and students from any discipline who engage in arts-integrative interdisciplinary efforts are welcome to participate.
