aussi disponible en français
March 7, 2014
For immediate release

Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal

The most current and detailed map of Prince Edward Island roads available is now fully interactive and available electronically, says Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal Minister Robert Vessey.

“Our Provincial Road Atlas is the document that government relies on to pinpoint exact locations in the province, and now an enhanced version is available online,” Minister Vessey said. “This valuable resource is completely up to date and available to anyone wanting to explore our province in this landmark year of 2014.”

Based on an index grid system, the Provincial Road Atlas is similar to the popular Thomas Guide maps published in the United States. It is extremely accurate because it is produced with GIS (Geographic Information System) data from the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal.

To access the interactive atlas, visit www.gov.pe.ca/tir and click on Provincial Road Atlas. Spiral-bound printed copies are also available for $30 plus HST by calling 368-4000 or toll-free, 1-800-236-5196.

Contact Brad Chatfield for more information.

9) Art for Addictions - Fundraiser for Youth Addictions/Mental Health Facility - Call for Donated Artworks

 from Facebook page

"Addiction is a community issue. Its devastating impact reaches far beyond the youth who are addicted and their families. Our education, health, justice and business communities are all burdened by its ripple effects. Therefore, The Reach Centre respectfully requests your help to transform our building into, "A place of hope for our Island youth to have the Courage to Continue." - The Reach Centre

The Reach Foundation was established to assist youth and their families struggling with the complex problems and challenges that arise through addiction and mental health issues. Through our own personal journeys of living with youth, our children, who struggle with addictions and mental health issues, we discovered there was a need in our community for a youth centre based on a not for profit social enterprise model.
We are very excited to announce that The Reach Centre has found a place to call home in Stratford. However many renovations need to be made to the location in order for the space to function in a truly meaningful, safe, and rewarding way for the community it will serve.

To achieve the funds necessary to renovate The Reach Centre, their will be a fundraiser held April 5th at the Confederation Centre of the Arts which will feature the talent and expression of the creative community - including an artwork sale, entertainment by local musicians, and delicious food and drink. The artists whose work has been donated for sale will also be at the event, providing the community an opportunity to get to know more about the artists and their work.

Artists who donate artwork to this event can be assured that their work will be for sale for no less than the marked 100$. Each artist will receive two complimentary tickets to the event and will be listed in the fundraiser brochure. This event will have many art consumers attending, which will provide artists a good opportunity to network with art collectors and businesses looking to support local art and its creators.

The Reach Centre is a non-profit centre for youth and their families who are struggling with addictions.  If you would like to donate a piece of art or for more information about the event, please email reachartforaddictions@gmail.com or 393-4727
