Happy March! This month, as we've been cozying up with some warm cups of tea, we've had time to think about living one's life purpose. We chatted with Emily Fletcher, founder of Ziva Meditation, about becoming a meditation teacher and dedicating her life to something in which she truly believes. Please read on.

Q & A with Emily Fletcher, Founder of Ziva Meditation

1. How did you find your life purpose?
One purpose led to the other. I was on Broadway for 10 years. During my last Broadway show I was feeling overwhelmed by stress, going gray at 26, had insomnia for 18 months and the girl sitting next to me in the dressing room introduced me to meditation. On the first day of the class I slept through the night for the first time in 18 months and I have every night since and that was eight years ago. Meditation upleveled my life so dramatically that I felt compelled to be able to share it with others. I left Broadway, went to India and started my three-year training process to become a teacher. I never envisioned this path for myself, but now that it is here I can't imagine anything better. I love waking up every day to emails from people sharing how their lives have changed for the better.

2. What does it mean to you to be living it?
I no longer question if I am living my life's purpose. I just live it. Dedicating your whole life and being to something you fully believe in is the most rewarding thing there is. Living for something bigger than you and asking in each situation, what can I give to this versus what can I get. These are all indicators that I am living my purpose.

3. What advice would you offer someone who is struggling to figure out what their purpose is in life?
Figure out the most pressing need of the time, ask yourself how your personal gifts best serve that need. Do that.

An Attitudinal Assessment

At Connect the Dots Coaching we offer the Energy Leadership Index assessment (ELI), an attitudinal assessment which measures your level of energy based on your attitude, perception and/or perspective of your world. Through the ELI and debrief you will uncover the blocks to living a life you love.

See what one client had to say about the power of the ELI:

"I found the Energy Leadership Index assessment surprisingly beneficial. Unlike the Myers-Briggs or other self-assessment tools, the results of the ELI require a debrief with a professional. Lauren unlocked what the results meant and how I could interpret them. I learned some vital things about my attitude under normal conditions (positive, as I had assumed), but also under stressful conditions (negative, draining attitude on self and others). The assessment helped me see what I can work on to open up more of the positive anabolic energy to better inspire myself and those around me. I would recommend this tool to anyone who wishes to be a better leader, increase their positive anabolic energy and, quite simply, have a more purposeful and fulfilling life."
