Traditional Soy Products

Some of the foods in Phase 3 may be new to you, including the traditional soy products.
  • Miso is a thick, paste-like substance, whereas natto retains the soybean-shape and has a stringier texture. Both provide you with high levels of protein and a low calorie count. You can find miso in the refrigerated section at the health foods store. I am not sure if it is sold in conventional grocery stores.

  • Tamari is the liquid that’s collected from miso as it ages. It's used like soy sauce and its benefit is that it's wheat-free (thus gluten-free). You can find this in the same aisle as you find soy sauce. Some conventional grocery stores sell it and all natural food stores have it. You can also purchase it online at places like Vitacost.com or Amazon.
As always, if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask us on facebook, our facebook group or by contacting us directly.
